The Cultural Exchange and Heritage Discovery Program is a unique initiative under the umbrella of FullyFunded, a flagship program by the World Education Forum Pakistan (WEFP). Established in 2007, this program is the brainchild of Dr. Mahmood Qureshi, a visionary educator and advocate for cultural diplomacy. Dr. Qureshi’s lifelong dream was to create a platform where individuals could experience the richness of global cultures, learn from shared histories, and foster meaningful connections across borders.

Having grown up in an era where resources for exploration and cross-cultural learning were limited, Dr. Qureshi experienced firsthand the challenges of understanding other cultures without opportunities to travel or engage directly. These personal struggles inspired him to build something transformative. With a passion for bridging cultural divides and nurturing global understanding, he laid the foundation for this program, ensuring that no one else would miss the opportunities he once longed for.

In partnership with WEFP, a leading organization dedicated to empowering individuals through education and exchange programs, the Cultural Exchange and Heritage Discovery Program serves as a beacon for cross-cultural understanding. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive and immersive experience, fully funded to eliminate financial barriers and allow participants to focus on learning and exploration. By covering travel, accommodations, meals, and program activities, FullyFunded ensures that participants can fully immerse themselves in the transformative journey without concern for expenses.

A key focus of the program is the celebration of shared histories and connections between Pakistan and Turkey, two nations with deep-rooted cultural and historical ties. Dr. Qureshi believed that exploring these shared connections fosters a sense of unity and mutual respect. Participants engage in curated experiences that not only showcase the vibrant traditions and artistic heritage of Turkey but also highlight the historical parallels and enduring friendships between the two countries.

Over the course of six weeks, participants embark on a journey of discovery, traversing Turkey’s bustling cities, picturesque landscapes, and historic landmarks. The program’s itinerary includes visits to iconic sites such as Istanbul’s Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace, as well as excursions to the ancient ruins of Ephesus and the fairy-tale landscapes of Cappadocia. Beyond sightseeing, the program offers opportunities to engage in hands-on cultural activities, including art workshops, culinary experiences, and traditional Turkish music and dance sessions.

One of the program’s most impactful elements is the collaborative documentary project, where participants work together to produce a film highlighting the cultural and historical connections between Pakistan and Turkey. This initiative not only serves as a creative outlet but also as a lasting testament to the knowledge, experiences, and friendships forged during the program.
